Proposal to inactivate ESCI 467 (Engineer. Appl. in Coastal Zone) and remove ESCI 466 (Coastal Env. Oceanogr.). 2 new courses would be added to the Major Field Requirement block: ESCI 464 (Ocean Ecosystems) and ESCI 468 (Ocean Data Analysis & Presentation). There was also a proposed change to an existing course: ESCI 369 (Physical Oceanography). This proposa was amended 6 February 2012 and approved 9 May 2012. These changes became effective Summer/Fall 2012.

Catalog description: Orbital and radiative transfer physics applied to satellite meteorology systems. Contemporary applications of satellite remote sensing of the atmosphere, including the retrieval of cloud microphysics and precipitation, the generation of atmospheric vertical profiles of temperature and moisture, the retrieval of wind, and image analysis and interpretation in the context of weather forecasting.
