Content Description Journal of Elizabeth Soule, of her daily life and devotions to the church. She mentions hearing Bishop Hopkins speaking on the 25th of May 1855 (he was the Episcopal Bishop of the Diocese in Vermont). Along with her signature in the journal is her brother's, E.F. Putnam, when he was a student at the Episcopal Seminary in Arlington, Virginia. It appears that he began this journal to record alphabetically themed references to religious meditations. The bulk of the material in the docket book consists of names of individuals brought before Justice Evans, the judgement of the court, and the amount of the judgement. Includes records of marriages he performed from 1826 to 1839 and loose papers relating to Thomas B. Evans of Chester County.
