General Note
In 1875 the Normal School Building that became known as Old Main was expanded with the addition of the Chapel and an addition to the tower where a 1000-pound bell was hung. This bell hung in the tower until 1965 when it was removed during the demolition of Old Main. This bell now hangs in the Bell Tower in the Alumni Bell Court next to the Student Memorial Center.
