Summary Note

Front view of Roddy Hall soon after it was built, named for H. Justin Roddy and was a men’s dormitory. It was rededicated in 1964 and named for Sarah Hughes Gilbert (1881-1912), an 1877 and 1879 graduate of the normal school, who taught mathematics and, later, literature and elocution. With the rededication it became a women’s dormitory.
