Signatures includes teachers Daniel H. Herr, Kate E. Worrest and Finnie W. Willard. Other signatures include Deborah P. Atherton who became secretary to the Principal at MSNS and Barbara Minnich from Hornberger's Hotel in Millersville. There are at least 2 signatures of young men who went on to fight in the Civil War: F.A. Matthews and Alexander A. McClurg (who died at the Battle of Fredericksburg on 13 December 1862).

Signatures include of teachers from both the Normal and Model Schools, including: J.V. Montgomery, J.P. Wickersham, E.B. Weaver (who died at Gettysburg during the Civil War), Lucretia G. Weaver, Fannie Willard, Mary Poole, H.W. Fisher, M. E. Smith and W.K. Stroup. There are a number of signatures from people living in York County, where she also resided. Included are two that denote that they are serving in the Army in 1863: T.W. Dick and W.C.F.
