Summary Note
Alfred Williams interviews Willie E. Shell, Sr. The Rev. Willie E. Shell, Sr. was interviewed at Brothers and Sisters Restaurant in Lancaster. He grew up in Alabama, moved to New York in 1967 and then Lancaster in 1969. He raised his family in Lancaster an started his own refuse business, Shell Disposal and Refuse Center. When he first started his business it was part-time since he was working at Armstrong World Industries but in 1995 it became his full-time job. In 1985 he attended the A.U. School of Religion for 2 years and then the Lancaster Bible College. He also received his associate's dgree from a theological seminary in Coatesville.He talks about discrimination that he faced in Lancaster.
