Biographical / Historical
Lyte Auditorium was completed in 1953, becoming the major site on campus for cultural activities and music classes. The building was named for Eliphalet Oram Lyte, 1868 and 1876 graduate of the Normal School; teacher of rhetoric, bookkeeping, pedagogy and grammar; and, Principal from 1887 to 1912.
