After the Normal School years this department was also known as Industrial Arts (1930-1985); Industry and Technology (1985-2011) and Applied Engineering, Safety and Technology (2011- ).

This department taught woodwork, sewing, and handwork for elementary school teachers. From 1915 to 1938 it included Domestic Science and then Home Economics and Industrial Arts.
