Background notes. Penningtonville was a train stop on the Pennsylvania Railroad in Sadsbury Township in Chester County not far from Christiana. L. M. Hobbs was the Steward of the Normal School from 1855 to 1858. Joseph Fell was from Buckingham Township in Bucks County. The Moore family was from Little Britain Township in Lancaster County. Uncle William was William Brosius of Sadsbury Township in Lancaster County.
