Summary Note

Background notes. The Oliver referred to by Sallie is assumed to be Oliver S. Fell, who moved to Millerstown in Lehigh County to teach. Dr. Eli Parry was a dentist and manufacturer of false teeth in Lancaster City. He was one of the founders of the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery and the Odontographic Society of Pennsylvania. Robert Addis was the daguerrotypist that Sallie visited with her former roommate and Dr. Parry. Merino is a soft wool and cotton clothing fabric resembling cashmere.
