Educator and historian Lee Graver wrote the history of Millersville Normal School and Millersville State Teachers College as a requirement for a doctorate in education from Rutgers University in 1953. His dissertation was published two years later by Nazareth Publishing Company in recognition of the 100th  anniversary of the establishment of the college.

Account ledger includes customer names, the cost of services rendered, and other income and expenses accrued at Rutter's mill between Mar. 1844 and Nov. 1852.

Abstract Ledgers contain records of Israel Cooper's business in Columbia, Pa. ‡b Cooper built a log house for William Wright in 1823. Entries in 1825 note costs for building the Conestoga Bridge out of stone. Cooper built the Blue Presbyterian Church in Washington Boro (constructed in 1826 and torn down in 1861), and St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Columbia (in 1828). The ledger documents Israel Cooper's efforts to bring an "ark-load" (coal barge) of lumber to be delivered to Lancaster through the...
