Abstract

These printed form books were issued by the Dept. of Common Schools and filled in by the teachers in local schools.  Monthly reports include names of students and teachers, attendance records, textbooks used, subjects taught, list of visitors to the school, and teacher's notes.

Scope and Contents

Diaries. Consists of three diaries written by Thomas Green of Chelsea, Mass., from 1866 to 1868. Diaries list a running account of his activities as a storekeeper, his involvement in the affairs of the local community, including the school board, his daily routine at home and his travels to nearby towns. Includes photographs of family members who resided in Pennsylvania from 1866 to 1918.
