Circular of Cottage Seminary for Young Ladies, Pottstown, Pa., 1873
Scope and Contents
George G. Butler, Principal and Mrs. George G. Butler, Vice Principal Cottage Seminary opened in 1850 by the Rev. William R. Work for the education of young ladies. He was succeeded by the Reverends Daniel G. Mallory, Curran and Cruikshank. Finally George Butler took over the school, keeping it open until his retirement in 1881. At that time, the school also closed.
