Proceedings, programs, song book, manual, registration materials, broadside, and song sheet primarily documenting the activities of the Teachers’ Institute of Lancaster County. The proceedings (1853, 1857, 1868-1880, 1908-1912) include minutes of the Institute’s activities, summaries of lectures, reports of discussions, essays by members of the Institute, selections of songs, and lists of members in attendance. The collection also includes a broadside announcing the 1857 Institute; registration materials for the 1899 and 1900 Institutes; a song sheet and a song book prepared for the 1868 and 1890 Institutes, respectively; a 1913 manual listing the public school teachers and school directors from districts throughout Lancaster County; and programs for the 1912, 1913, and 1958 Institutes. Programs for the 2nd, 7th, and 9th City Teachers’ Institutes, which took place in 1897, 1903, and 1905, are also included in the collection.
