Biographical / Historical

Mabel Mercer was born 3 February 1900 in Burton upon Trent, Straffordshire, England. She performed in the United States, Britain and Europe with the greats in jazz and cabaret. President Ronald Reagan presented her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1983. She died 20 April 1984 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
