Biographical / Historical

John Alfred Williams was born 5 December 1925 in Jackson, Miss. and grew up in Syracuse New York. He earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism and English from Syracuse University in 1950. He moved to New York City in 1955. He was a novelist and author and taught at numerous colleges and universities, the last being Rutgers (1979-1994). He died 3 July 2015 in Paramus, NJ.
