Biographical information
Charles Perry was born in 1924 in Savannah, Georgia. His family moved to Brooklyn when he was in grade school. His only published work was Portrait of a Young Man Drowning, published in 1962. He had numerous minor acting roles throughout his life. He began a semi-autobiographical account of the murder of his 11-year-old son, Charles, Jr., entitled I Wake Up Screaming. He died in 1969 from cancer.
