Biographical information
Alyne Dumas was born in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1911. As a young adult she moved to Chicago where she met and married John Frank Lee. They would adopt 2 daughters. Lee was know for her singular soprano voice. In 1967 she accepted an invitation to teach and be an artist in residence at Oakwood College, Huntsville, Alabama. She died three years later (1970) of a massive heart attack in Huntsville.
