Biographical / Historical

Bob Curtis was born 1 September 1925 in Mississippi.  He studied ballet in San Francisco and New York and modern dance with Katherine Dunham in New York. His first professional dancing role was in 1952 in [i]Four Saints in Three Acts[/i].  After a serious accident in the 1950s his professional career as a dancer were ended.  He founded his own school of dance in Rome and late in life took up painting.  He died 9 December 2009 in Vienna, Austria, where he is buried.
