Biographical information

He was born in 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Steubenville, Ohio.  He attended Xavier University in New Orleans and served in the US Army. He was a respected jazz drummer, teacher and composer.  He died 4 December 2008 of Lou Gehrig's disease.
