John Daniels Carter, composer of [i]Cantata[/i], for voice and piano, has conflicting birthdates. it is believed that he was born 19 April 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri, though some sources say 1937. He studied at Oberlin. The date given for his death is July 1981.
