Scope and Contents
Correspondence, memoranda, brochures, newspaper clippings, receipts, reports, programs, books, handbooks and ephemera related to the life and professional activities of George F. Stauffer. ‡b Most of the materials contained within the collection relate to individuals, organizations, events, and activities associated with Millersville State College during Doctor Stauffer's years of association with the institution. Materials documenting the activities of the Millersville Alumni Association from the 1930s through the 1970s, with a particular focus in the 1960s and 1970s comprise a significant portion of the collection. A small number of the materials relate to the student years of Doctor Stauffer's wife, Leila Jackson Stauffer. The collection also includes a number of NCAA handbooks dating from the late 1970s through 1980 governing the national collegiate championships in various sports as well as field guides used in the study of astronomy and natural history.
